I decided to run because the students in Escondido deserve an excellent education. That starts with a school board that always puts the students’ needs first and guides the district as a cohesive team. The current Board Members actions show them to be self-serving and dismissive of feedback and concerns from teachers, staff, and the community.
I believe that a strong school board starts with transparency and accountability. Every decision we make should be completely open and clear to our entire community. But true leadership goes beyond just being open, it requires active collaboration. I am committed to working hand-in-hand with our parents and teachers. They are the ones closest to our students, and they know what our kids need to succeed. Their voices must not only be heard, but deeply respected in every major decision we make. Together, by keeping our processes open and our partnerships strong, we can ensure our schools truly reflect the values and needs of our community.
My priority will be ensuring our district uses every single dollar wisely and responsibly. But stewardship also means being proactive, which is why I will always look for new and additional funding sources to support our schools. Most importantly, we must direct those resources where they matter most: to our teachers and staff. I will advocate for fair compensation and the vital resources our educators need to succeed. By managing our budget carefully and supporting our staff fairly, we can build a stronger future for our entire community.
I want to make sure every single student in our schools has the strong start they deserve. I am committed to improving our core math and reading competencies. These fundamental skills are the foundation of everything our kids will do in life, from solving everyday problems to chasing their biggest dreams. Early intervention is critical, and I will prioritize making sure our schools have the tools and support in place to identify and help students before they fall behind. I am also committed to supporting our English learners, ensuring they have access to the resources and instruction they need to thrive alongside their peers.
